I just think this is the worst thing you've ever written, and not because of my personal feelings. I'm actually in agreement with many things in this post. But you can't just use grand hyperbole and generalization like "the very direction of enlightenment in the world" with no reasoning. Why do you think this? What gives you reason to believe that? I'm asking seriously. When you say entity, who are you referring to? The majority? The government? Your immediate connections/hometown? What is it that you think "loves" you and is a force of good in the world? You need to explain your terms clearly. This is fodder for discussion, not just a single bold statement. If the post is left to speak for itself, it's going to speak badly of you. I want it to be a discussion, hell, I even want you to win, but don't just leave it like it is. You've shown me/the internet a small part of your thought, I want to see the rest. I wasn't pissed off at you. In other words, I can't be proud to be born American, but I can be proud OF America, as I have helped elect leaders, improved communities, and so on.
